SIP trunking FAQ

How many channels do we need?

It depends on peak concurrent calls rather than total user count alone. Historical call records are the best input. Where records are unavailable, the estimate should be conservative and reviewed after launch.

Can we keep our existing phone numbers?

It may be possible through number portability or forwarding, depending on the country, number type, current provider and account ownership. Porting should be confirmed before a migration date is promised.

Can we use our own carrier?

Yes, when the carrier supports the required platform, countries, authentication and operational model. Bitkrakens can work with a bring-your-own-trunk approach or help define a carrier comparison brief.

Does a second carrier guarantee high availability?

No. Redundancy also requires working routing rules, reachable infrastructure, current credentials, monitoring and tested recovery procedures. A second carrier is only one part of the design.
